My name is Sigfrid Lundberg. The stuff I publish here may, or may not, be of interest for anyone else. Most of the it is related to my profession as an Internet programmer and system developer within the area digital libraries at the Royal Library, Copenhagen (Denmark) and, before that, Lund university (Sweden).

Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister

The Perl programming language was created by Larry Wall, who declared that the name was an abbreviation of Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister, or possibly Practical Extraction and Report Language. I've used it a lot and I'm not ashamed of it. And I still use it. In spite of the fact that some people say it's dying. However, now when I'm more or less completetly converted to JAVA, we are actually discussing to switch part of our development to Ruby on Rails.
